You read that right. While most of the posts on this site are and will be devoted to the people of Italy, I wanted to take an opportunity to draw attention to the country of Mexico.
Pope Benedict XVI recently concluded his first trip to the mostly Roman Catholic country. It is estimated that he had an audience of more than 640,000 people for mass in Leon, Mexico. Pray for those who are ministering to people who have been blinded by the erroneous teaching of the Catholic church. If you need help knowing how to pray specifically, you can go here and read prayer updates from a good friend of ours, Mike Goldfuss, who is working in the midst of it all in Mexico City.
When you are done praying for Mexico, pray for Italy, as well. While she is not nearly as entangled in Catholicism (as surprising as that sounds, it is estimated that only about 30% of Italy’s 61,261,254 people are practicing Catholics as opposed to nearly 45% of Mexico’s 114,975,406 people), the church has become an integral part of the Italian culture, blinding people to the truth of the Gospel.
